Michael first heard the music in his father’s pub in County
Kilkenny. The country fairs and hurling matches were important social
events where stories, music and songs were sung and exchanged. His
first experience of playing in public was in the folk-clubs and
Irish bars in London in the 70’s and since his arrival in
France in 1978 he has continued to delight and charm audiences with
his songs and humour.
